Cultural Differences

All around the world there are many different cultures. Every culture has differences in speech, rituals, education, body language, etc. If you travel, you should always be careful about what you say or do, because you may offend somebody of a different culture. For example, a hand gesture that means "two" or "peace" to American's can be very offensive to other cultures such as in England where it means "up yours". In Japan and Korea, a tip is considered an insult and if it is accepted then it is considered begging. But in the U.S. it is an insult to not leave a tip. In Holland, you should always use utensils when eating, even if it is only a piece of bread. You should always learn as much as possible about different cultures before you travel or else you may end up in a lot of trouble.

Social Media

Social media plays a big role in many peoples lives today. It allows us to communicate with others at any time, get information about other people, and many other useful things. But if you are not using social media correctly, it can have bad effects on your life. You must always be cautious about what you put online, because others can see things that you may not want them to see. People can also lie very easily in social media. Though social media may be fun, it can also have many downsides to it.

Photoshop

Today I learned how to use Photoshop to create an image within a text. Here as a few examples. The word tiger is typed, and there is an image of a tiger inside of the text. You can also put an image inside of any shape.

Street League

In 2013, the Street League skateboarding contest was one by Chris Cole. Many expected Nyjah Huston to win it, because he had one the last couple years that it was held, but Chris Cole was much better on the day of the contest. He not only one money, but also an award and a title for the best trick that year. Nyjah Huston says that he will come back next year to take the title of the championship.

Phobias

A Phobia is an irrational and extreme fear of something. About 70% of people have phobias. The most common type of phobia is arachnophobia, the fear of spiders. Many people have fears of things such as thunder, or even animals. Other very common forms of phobias are Mysophobia, the fear of germs, and clourophobia, the fear of clowns. Many people also have odd fears such as paraskevidekatriaphobia, which is the fear of Friday the 13th. There are phobias for just about everything in the world, and they are not uncommon to have.
